ABOUT PHILIP OMMEN
Philip Ommen, Founder of Forte Hospitality Consulting, is a hospitality veteran with over 30 years of experience in hotel operations & marketing.
His career has taken him through some of the world’s leading award-winning hotel brands, including Grand Hyatt, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotel Group and Furama Hotels International; and independent brands and operators, such as Ayana Hotels & Resorts, Best Sunshine International and NagaCorp Ltd.
He has driven successful projects around Asia in hotel rebranding, renovations and repositioning; enhancing brand and asset values; developing high-potential talent; and transforming regions and delivering stakeholder returns in both business, resort and gaming environments.

Jack Chua, Co-founder & Director of Forte Hospitality Consulting, has garnered more than 35 years of hospitality experiences, rising from a humble Baker to a responsible General Manager.
Balanced and all-rounder, Jack has vast knowledge in Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, Finance, Revenue Management, Safety & Crisis Management and other aspects of Hotel Operations.
Commenced his career with Hyatt Regency Singapore and the remarkable journey took him through many reputable Global Hotel Chains such as Shangri-La, Swissotel, Millennium & Copthorne and StayWell Group.
From a successful pre-opening of Traders Hotel as Director of Sales to turning around Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort to be the Group’s most profitable Hotel and in F&B, and to undertaking of numerous renovation and upgrading projects, he will be able to share his vast know-how and successful attribute.
ABOUT JACK CHUA

Mario spent his early years living in Singapore and San Francisco. He holds BFA from Academy of Art University and MBA from University of San Francisco.
A decades of rich experiences, he worked at Landor Associates San Francisco, Salt Design San Francisco, MakkiMakki, and Afterhours Group. Former founder of Cranium Digital Agency, and form Managing Director of FGD magazines. In present, he’s the CEO of Rubicube Creative, Co-Founder of FiftyMM Photography Studio, CEO of Weirdo Apparels, Partner of Red & White Publishing, Member of ADGI, Member of DGI. His current mission is to create value for branding and design through ARKx Group globally.
ABOUT MARIO UTAMA
A finance professional for nearly four decades, Navjyot started his career in the industry with Deloitte Chartered Accounts, before entering the hospitality industry as a Manager of Accounts & Systems for the Taj Group of Hotels in India. He then joined Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the finance function for properties in Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Millennium Hotels and Resorts as Vice President, Finance - Optimisation & Projects, his last position before semi-retirement, he was Vice President Finance at Shangri-La, overseeing the Asia Pacific region. He created the shared Service Centre in Singapore and rolled out similar centres in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Sydney.
He also simplified processes and redrafted policies and procedures for the Group, and also developed a productivity tracking and roster system for labour management in current tight work
ABOUT NAVJVOT SACHDEV
Kenneth had been in various industries over the last 39 years across Asia Pacific covering municipal sewage treatment, railway (signaling, air conditioning, braking systems, platform screen doors) for Mass Transit across Asia, Hotels, Projects & Facilities/Asset Management for Casino & Construction developments providing technical support, advise, consultancy to the team, end users and owners across various platforms; innovative ideas & recommendations from vendors to enhance sustainability, cost savings, environmental improvement and productivity.
ABOUT KENNETH FONG
Kenneth had for the last 27 years been deeply involved in the project management of hotel & mixed-use development master planning, developing service & operational concepts, environmental & sustainability models for the last 27 years with various international hotel chains (Hyatt, IHG, Hilton, Mulia, Dusit, Solaire, Macau Legend, Alila & others) and advisory to owners at Corporate Director & VP positions covering Group levels & Asia Pacific, Australasia.
Kenneth strongly believes in teamwork leveraging on the various specialists available on hand to enhance the end results. Always keen to look at new challenges, market services and products & keeping abreast with new methodology & technology.
Kenneth holds a Masters in Engineering from the National University of Singapore and is a certified Design Accredited Professional & Independent Assessor with EarthCheck Sustainability Certifications for the hotel and building industry.

Tommy Ng is an entrepreneur and seasoned HR practitioner, a well-respected coach, trusted mentor and influential advisor. For over thirty years Tommy has helped everyone from employees to CEOs, with deep HR experience that spans sectors, both public and private, including global finance, property development and management, public transport, worldwide hospitality and education, and airlines manage and leverage their people effectively.
Winner of numerous HR awards and accolades during his stints with Raffles International and SMRT Corporation.
Tommy’s influence has helped shape the HR landscape in Singapore, serving and chairing a number of HR policy councils and sharing fresh perspectives as a speaker at HR symposia. He is also the award-winning author of the book “Nothing Surprises Me – I work in HR (A Personal Journey)”
He has been a Fellow of the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) since 2009.
ABOUT TOMMY NG
Alan Chan, Chief Legal Consultant of Forte Hospitality Consulting, a senior corporate lawyer with almost 30 years of experience practicing corporate and commercial law.
Alan served as legal advisor to executive boards and management of prestigious and multinational corporations in the hospitality, integrated entertainment, technology, health care and property development sectors, including the largest charity and gaming entertainment membership organisation, the Hong Kong Jockey Club; integrated entertainment hospitality and gaming resorts, NagaCorp Ltd and Imperial Pacific Resort Hotel; Celestial Pictures Limited, the entertainment content aggregating member of the Astro group in Malaysia. Alan also acts as Independent Non-Executive Directors for listed companies; and serves as honorary legal advisor to a number of charitable organisations.
With a wealth of experiences in corporate transactions from green field start-ups, to government regulatory advisory, corporate compliance, take-overs and mergers and acquisitions, Alan practices ways and means to balance corporate integrity and business growth with sound practicable solutions that serve sustainable and successful corporate growth.
ABOUT ALAN CHAN
Rachel Tanoko is a senior finance leader and Chartered Accountant with an extensive career experience that spans across South East Asia and the United States. Her close to 20 years of experience that started with a Big 4 in Singapore, has taken through to companies such as Inter-Continental Hotels Group, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Singapore Cricket Club and Furama Hotels International; from Financial Controller to Vice President Finance (functioning along with added roles such as Vice President Business Development and Head of Business Unit). Having worked as a finance leader at the property, operator and owner level, Rachel has an all-rounded hospitality finance approach in addressing hotel operational and financial issues effectively. Her experience also includes asset management, deal acquisition and structuring, and hotel/real estate investments.
ABOUT RACHEL TANOKO
As a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), Chartered Accountants Worldwide and Financial Planning Association of Singapore, Rachel values integrity and upholds professional competence.
Rachel holds a Master of Management in Hospitality degree from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from Nanyang Technological University. She was the recipient of two prestigious scholarships for her academic endeavours: KPMG and Singapore Tourism Board.
Rachel is culturally sensitive and multilingual, besides English, she speaks 6 other languages including Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia and Cantonese. She is very active in voluntary works: she chairs the board of a charity in Singapore and is the cofounder of a non-profit organization in Indonesia. On the not-so-serious side, she enjoys sports especially badminton, family traveling and a good cup of coffee!
Marlborough Hospitality Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd, in existence since 2009, provides a wide range of legal, consultancy and project oversight services for the hospitality and residential housing industries.
Marlborough is helmed by Michael Evanoff. Michael worked for major law firms in New York and London before joining Hyatt International Corporation in 1984. He served Hyatt International as General Counsel, as Vice President – Development and General Counsel, and as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. His responsibilities included general corporate and commercial matters, compliance, litigation, and intellectual and technology issues.
ABOUT MICHAEL EVANOFF
While at Hyatt International, Michael worked closely with Jay Pritzker, the legendary founder and Chairman of Hyatt, and oversaw the development of approximately 70 Hyatt International hotels worldwide, as well as several casinos and multi-purpose projects.
Among the investment deals for which Michael was responsible at Hyatt International were the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, the Grand Hyatt Bali, the Park Hyatt Paris, the Park Hyatt Milan, the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, the Grand Hyatt Seoul, the Regency Hotel and Casino (Greece), and the Park Hyatt Zurich
Since leaving Hyatt International, Michael has represented both hotel investors and management companies, and has worked on projects in the U.S., Australia, Greece, Russia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Maldives, Madagascar, Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, the People’s Republic of China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Japan.
Michael was educated at Michigan State University, the University of Michigan Law School, and the London School of Economics. He is a member of the New York and U.S. Federal Bars. Generally, Michael is regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on the preparation and negotiation of hotel management agreements, and related documentation.
